Children can draw a dragon and a castle with Nick Sharratt and get a sneak-peek storytime of You Choose Fairy Tales read by Pippa Goodheart and Nick Sharratt too.
Children will need a pen and some paper to draw along with Nick.
Use this video to support illustration and creative writing, inspire imaginations and encourage children to write their own fairy tales. You could also use the video to support reading for pleasure, and invite the whole class to choose their favourites during the You Choose Fairy Tales storytime.
These videos were streamed as part of the Puffin Festival of Big Dreams, an online event which celebrated the power of children’s imaginations (and Puffin’s 80th birthday) during lockdown 2020. Thank you for dreaming big!

The Story-Makers Show was known as Puffin Virtually Live up until March 2019. The content and ambition of the show remains the same: to give every pupil the opportunity to engage with authors and illustrators in their own classroom using the power of the internet.
We’ve re-named Puffin Virtually Live so that it’s easier for new teachers to discover it as part of Puffin Schools and to acknowledge that the show now premieres on show day, rather than being streamed live.
