Chinese New Year
The first of the month sees the celebration of Chinese New Year and 2022 is the year of the tiger according to the Chinese zodiac. Introduce different customs and raise cultural awareness by sharing this occasion in your school.
LGBT+ History Month
February is LGBT+ History Month, which aims to promote equality and diversity for the benefit of everyone and this year sees the 50th anniversary of the very first gay pride march in 1972. Start the conversation in your classroom with our book list featuring a wonderful array of titles for all ages.
National Storytelling Week
Already underway, this year’s theme for National Storytelling Week is 'Your Story - My Story’, running from 29th January to 5th February. Find out more on the Society for Storytelling's website and start the story with your class using our collection of writing prompts to help children tell their stories. Children’s Mental Health Week
Place 2 Be’s Children’s Mental Health Week runs from 7th -13th February. This year they will be encouraging children (and adults) to consider how they have grown, and how they can help others to grow, under the theme of ‘Growing Together’. Find out more on their website. St Valentine’s Day and Book Giving Day
