About the book

All creatures grim and evil, under the tired sun, are settling down – and so must you, my horrible little one…

Introducing Huw Aaron, a major new talent from Puffin Books, and his critically-acclaimed English Language debut picture book, Sleep Tight, Disgusting Blob!

It is bedtime for Blob, although they might need some persuading. But whether you are a phantom or a yeti, a Dark Lord or a demon, a bedtime routine is absolutely essential for a good night’s sleep.

So it’s time to put on your pyjamas, brush your fangs and settle in for a brilliant bedtime story…

Perfect for fans of Rob Biddulph, Sleep Tight, Disgusting Blob is a delightfully disgusting, utterly unique rhyming tale. With cleverly detailed illustration and a hilarious text that will appeal to all ages, everyone will fall in love with the cast of evil yet incredibly cute creatures as they cosy up in bed, settle down to sleep and get their own blobby bedtime kiss.

About the author
Huw Aaron is a Welsh cartoonist, author and illustrator. After a short and fairly hopeless career in finance, Huw found a niche as a magazine cartoonist, producing joke cartoons for, among others, Private Eye, Prospect and The Spectator. Huw then started making comics and illustrating children’s books in his native Welsh.

Since 2013, he has written or illustrated over 60 Welsh language books, and has won numerous awards including the 2023 Tir na n-Og and Welsh Children’s Book of the Year prizes. He was also founding editor of the comic Mellten, and presented the weekly art programme Cer i Greu on S4C. Huw also has a middle grade graphic novel publishing with Penguin Random House in August 2025. Huw’s harshest critics – and his best friends – are his wife Luned and their two daughters.
